Who we are
KnowSeat is a consumer technology service for metro commuters. It is owned and operated by Rajesh Kumar Gaba, a sole proprietorship doing business under the trade name KnowSeat, based in New Delhi, India. The KnowSeat Android app is live for commuters on the Delhi Metro network.
What KnowSeat does
Inside a crowded metro coach, standing passengers have no way of knowing which seated passenger is about to get off. KnowSeat solves this information gap:
- Offer a seat — a seated commuter who is getting off soon marks their seat as free and shares their exit station.
- Find a seat — a standing commuter in the same coach sees the seats that will free up next and requests one.
- Verified handover — the two commuters confirm the handover in the app with a one-time code, so the seat goes to the person who requested it.
KnowSeat does not sell, reserve or own any metro seat. We provide an information and coordination service, and commuters choose whether to take part.
Our offerings
- Seat Swap LIVE — a small per-swap convenience fee of ₹3 to ₹20, shown before you pay. See Services & Pricing.
- KnowSeat Rewards LIVE — commuters who offer their seat earn reward points, and riders can add points at ₹1 for 1 point. Points are used when you claim a seat. Added points expire after 1 year and cannot be withdrawn or transferred.
- NCMC card recharge COMING SOON — recharge your National Common Mobility Card in fixed denominations with no convenience fee.
- Metro QR tickets COMING SOON — Delhi Metro QR tickets through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), at official fares.
How payments work
All payments on KnowSeat are processed securely by Paytm Payment Gateway (UPI, debit/credit cards and net banking). KnowSeat does not store your card or bank details and does not hold money on behalf of users. Every fee is shown in Indian Rupees before you pay, and refunds follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
KnowSeat is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) or any other metro authority. Commuters must hold a valid metro ticket and follow DMRC rules, including reserved-seat rules.
