Welcome to KnowSeat ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using the KnowSeat mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using our platform.

1. About KnowSeat

KnowSeat is a peer-to-peer seat exchange platform that connects metro commuters who wish to offer their seats with those who wish to find available seating. KnowSeat acts solely as a facilitator and is not responsible for the actual seat exchange between users.

2. Eligibility

To use KnowSeat, you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age
• Have a valid mobile number and email address
• Be a valid ticket-holding passenger on the metro
• Agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

You must create an account to use KnowSeat. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at support@knowseat.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account. KnowSeat is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized access to your account.

3.3 One Account Per User

Each user may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to abuse platform features or credits is prohibited and may result in permanent suspension.

4. The KnowSeat Service

4.1 How It Works

KnowSeat enables two types of users on the platform:

• Seat Offerers — passengers who list their seat as available when they are approaching their destination stop
• Seat Seekers — passengers who find and reserve available seats on their metro coach

4.2 Platform Role

KnowSeat provides the technology to connect these users. We do not guarantee seat availability, the quality of any seat exchange, or the behaviour of any other user on the platform.

4.3 Metro Rules

All users must comply with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) rules and regulations at all times. KnowSeat does not permit any activity that violates metro bylaws, including occupying reserved seats designated for senior citizens, women, or persons with disabilities.

5. Payments & Fees

5.1 Seat Reservation Fee

Seat seekers pay a nominal fee (currently ₹5 per seat reservation) to secure a seat through the platform. This fee is subject to change and will always be clearly displayed before confirmation.

5.2 Earnings for Seat Offerers

Seat offerers receive credits or payments for successfully completing seat exchanges. KnowSeat may deduct a platform service fee from the amount credited to offerers.

5.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through third-party payment processors (such as PhonePe, Razorpay, or similar). By making a payment, you also agree to the terms of the respective payment processor.

5.4 Refunds

Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to use KnowSeat to:

• Engage in fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive behaviour
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• List seats that are reserved for senior citizens, women, or persons with disabilities
• Create fake seat listings or cancel confirmed transactions repeatedly
• Attempt to circumvent the platform by transacting directly outside the app
• Use automated scripts, bots, or any other unauthorized tools
• Violate any applicable local, state, or national law

Violation of these conduct rules may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account, with or without notice.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the KnowSeat platform — including the app design, logo, graphics, text, and software — is the property of KnowSeat and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

8.1 No Guarantee

KnowSeat does not guarantee that seats will always be available, that exchanges will always go smoothly, or that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.

8.2 User Responsibility

You use the Service at your own risk. KnowSeat is not liable for any disputes between users, missed exchanges, or any loss or damage resulting from your use of the platform.

8.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KnowSeat's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to KnowSeat in the 30 days preceding the incident giving rise to the claim.

9. Privacy

Your use of KnowSeat is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand our data practices.

10. Termination

KnowSeat reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to users, KnowSeat, or third parties. You may also delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting us.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
